My favorite quote is!
Actions speak louder than words.
We are excited to announce a major step forward: the planning and creation of our very first test grow dome.
This dome will be smaller than the full-sized versions we…
For more than 15 years, I have walked alongside Oshawa’s most vulnerable — those struggling with food insecurity, homelessness, and the daily weight of poverty. What began as a Sunday…

I’ve walked away from everything before—my house, my marriage, even my old patterns of mental illness like co-dependence. I served over 7 years in the military when I was young, and during that time, I drank heavily. Later, I lost everything to a fire, including all of my possessions and my home. I lost my business due to health issues, and then my home again. I struggled to make ends meet, and after a layoff, I couldn’t find work fast enough.
But each setback became a lesson. I’ve learned to be careful what you ask of the universe—it may answer in ways you never imagined, leading you down paths you didn’t expect.
After my stroke, I had to relearn how to walk and talk. I once needed oxygen to live. But my open-heart surgery gave me the chance to continue my recovery. Today, I walk more than 5 km every day and use the knowledge I’ve gained over the past five years to rebuild my programs with greater purpose.
When our government abandoned the homeless and marginalized, I spent time at Memorial Park in Oshawa, providing free food, clothing, and necessities. That experience opened my eyes to how politicians use fear to control—and how often those who try to do the right thing are attacked.
That is why I now focus on programs that build people up, not tear them down. Real, practical options like showing how to grow safe, healthy food in small spaces—often better than what’s available in a store or a community garden. I don’t just talk about change, I live it.
The cruelty I’ve witnessed on the streets has weighed heavily on me. But I realized that I needed to heal myself first before I could create real options for change. Healing gave me a way forward.
Now, I’ve started working on the LIFE Transitional Housing Project, and I already see movement toward my goals. If one path doesn’t work, I will find another. Because I am dedicated to creating more love and compassion for all—each and every day.
I am happiest when I’m hands-on, like today, walking to pick up bread for the sandwiches we make every Tuesday and Friday for those most in need in our community. I love sandwich day.
I’d rather sit and share a conversation with someone on the street, offer a free hug (yes, I even have Free Hugs shirts and people ask for hugs even when I’m not wearing them). This is who I am. This is my passion. I follow what I believe, and that belief is simple:
💖 Love Is For Everyone.
I now see more clearly why I do what I do. I used to simply have faith and look for the positive in everything, but now I know, actions matter most. This isn’t about religion; those are personal and unique to each of us. What matters is this:
👉 Actions speak louder than words.
👉 If your beliefs inspire actions rooted in love, they create good.
👉 If your beliefs justify actions that are not loving, that is fear, and fear is the opposite of love.
How we treat others is what truly matters. None of us is perfect, but every single one of us deserves love.
The truth is simple: the only way to solve the biggest issues in our communities and our world is through love and compassion for all. Love grows when it’s shared, and I choose to create more ripples of kindness every day.
💜 Want a better community? A better country? A better world?
Start with consistent actions of love and compassion.
Talk about it. Live it. Be the change you want to see.

One day, it may go even further—imagine being told you must register your own garden, or being restricted from growing certain plants. And if you don’t comply? Social networks could easily be pressured into suspending or deleting your account.
I’ve seen this pattern before. At the start of the pandemic, our government abandoned the homeless and marginalized. Politicians now claim they “did a wonderful job” helping, but I was there in Oshawa, watching a mayor head off on vacation while vulnerable people were left with nothing. The only real support came from caring individuals—myself included—who went out on the streets with food, clothing, and essentials. For that, we were threatened with fines. They tried to intimidate us into silence, but I was never charged.
This is the reality: they can ban accounts, hide posts, and rewrite the narrative—but they cannot erase the truth.
That’s why I’ve built my own network, one that cannot be controlled or censored. A space where health, wellness, and food security matter. Where we share real solutions that heal instead of harm, and where support is not based on financial ability.
