🌸 Daily Dose of Beauty at Parkwood Estate National Historic Site. 🦋

Two images. The same Monarch butterfly, resting and feeding on the same pink zinnia, captured only moments apart.

In one moment, we see the Monarch almost head-on. Its wings stretch upward, revealing only hints of that familiar orange against the brilliant green background. Moments later, it turns, and suddenly the beautiful orange, black and white patterns of its wings come fully into view.

Nothing around it has really changed. The flower is still the same soft pink. The background is still filled with vibrant greens and touches of yellow. The butterfly is still gathering what it needs from the very same flower.

    Only our view has changed.

There is something here that connects with health and wellness. We can look at the same moment, the same challenge, or even ourselves from one direction and see one thing. Give it a little time, change our position, or simply pause long enough to look again, and we may notice something completely different.

Nature doesn't need to rush these moments. The Monarch moves around the flower, taking what it needs, while the colours and details change with every small movement.

Maybe we can give ourselves that same opportunity today.

Pause. Look again. Allow yourself another view.
Sometimes a few moments are enough to help us see what was there all along. 🌸🦋💚

  • I truly appreciate the beauty of nature, and I enjoy your eye for capturing beautiful images. You don’t have to post every week; posting every second week or even monthly would be perfectly fine. With so many options to choose from, it takes time to fully appreciate each picture. There are 21 choices to go through, and I can select the images I want to save. The words "love," "compassion," and "community" resonate deeply with me, as they convey a sense of connection and empathy. I really enjoy this aspect of the network. Thanks for being awesome!
