I truly appreciate the beauty of nature, and I enjoy your eye for capturing beautiful images. You don’t have to post every week; posting every second week or even monthly would be perfectly fine. With so many options to choose from, it takes time to fully appreciate each picture. There are 21 choices to go through, and I can select the images I want to save. The words "love," "compassion," and "community" resonate deeply with me, as they convey a sense of connection and empathy. I really enjoy this aspect of the network. Thanks for being awesome!

🦋 Daily Dose Of Beauty – A Pleasant Surprise at Parkwood Estate National Historic Site, Oshawa
Being this late in October, I truly believed I had already taken my last photographs of a Monarch Butterfly for 2026. Most Monarchs have already headed south, and I had accepted that my opportunities to photograph my favourite butterfly were likely over for another year.
But nature had another surprise waiting for me!
While visiting Parkwood Estate National Historic Site, there it was, another beautiful Monarch Butterfly! I wasn't expecting to see one, and that made the moment even more special.
For me, photographing Monarchs has become much more than simply taking pictures. I enjoy the time spent outdoors, observing their movements, appreciating the little details, and having those quiet moments surrounded by nature.
After photographing so many Monarchs throughout 2026, I thought that chapter of the year had come to an end. Yet here was another opportunity to enjoy something that brings me so much happiness.
It reminded me of something important about our daily health and wellness: Never completely close yourself off to possibilities.
Sometimes, we decide that an opportunity has passed or something is no longer possible. We stop looking, stop noticing, or simply move on. Yet life can still surprise us, often when we least expect it.
I had taken a vacation and a break from posting on social media and my website, giving myself some time away. I still have many beautiful moments captured before that break that I look forward to sharing.
With warmer weather expected over the next few days, you can be sure I will be keeping my eyes open for another Monarch. Maybe I will see one, maybe I won't, but I certainly won't rule out the possibility!
Sometimes, it's those unexpected little moments that bring us the greatest joy.
For me, seeing one more Monarch Butterfly this late in the season was one of those moments. A simple experience, but one that brought a smile to my face and another beautiful memory of 2026.
Take time to enjoy the beauty around you, appreciate the unexpected, and remain open to the possibilities that each new day may bring.
