  • Daily Dose Of Beauty at Parkwood Estate National Historic Site. 🦋📸

One of the things I love about this season is the incredible variety of colours, flowers, butterflies, and other life all around us. From one moment to the next, I really never know what I am going to see.

Monarch butterflies will always be a favourite of mine, and I have many more Monarch images still to share, but there is so much beauty and variety that sometimes it can be difficult to decide where to focus.

Photography has taught me an important lesson about that.

I can be lining up a photo of one butterfly when another suddenly comes into view. In the past, I would sometimes shift my attention to the second one, try to refocus, and end up watching both fly away without getting either photograph.

Over the years, I learned to focus on one at a time—unless I am lucky enough to get both in the same frame. 🦋🦋

I think there is a connection here to health and wellness.

There will always be distractions. There will always be another food, activity, trend, or temptation competing for our attention. But improving our health often means learning what our own body needs and consistently making choices that support those needs.

That doesn't require perfection. Getting distracted occasionally doesn't mean we have failed. What matters is learning to bring our focus back to the choices that support our goals.

Photography required me to learn, practice, make mistakes, and keep trying. After my stroke, I even had to relearn parts of something I had already loved doing.

I approach my health and wellness in much the same way: learn, practice, pay attention, adjust, and keep going.

Sometimes the difference between capturing the photograph and watching it disappear is simply where we choose to place our focus.

Our health can be similar. Small choices repeated over time can make a meaningful difference.

What are you choosing to focus on today for your health and wellness? 🌿🦋

  • I truly appreciate the beauty of nature, and I enjoy your eye for capturing beautiful images. You don’t have to post every week; posting every second week or even monthly would be perfectly fine. With so many options to choose from, it takes time to fully appreciate each picture. There are 21 choices to go through, and I can select the images I want to save. The words "love," "compassion," and "community" resonate deeply with me, as they convey a sense of connection and empathy. I really enjoy this aspect of the network. Thanks for being awesome!
