  • 🦋 Reflections in Colour — Drawn to What Nourishes 🌸

Years ago, I captured this moment without fully understanding why it stayed with me.

A Red Admiral butterfly, wings held in quiet balance, with its proboscis deep in the yellow center of a zinnia — fully engaged, fully present. At the time, I noticed the colour. Years later, I understand the meaning.

The Red Admiral has always symbolized resilience and long journeys for me. It’s a butterfly shaped by movement, by change, by knowing when to travel and when to pause. Its dark wings, traced with bold red and soft white, remind me that strength and vulnerability often exist side by side.

The zinnia beneath it offers a different lesson. Its magenta petals open wide, but it’s the yellow center that holds the nourishment. Yellow speaks to vitality, clarity, and energy — the core of wellness. The butterfly doesn’t skim the surface; it goes straight to what sustains it.

Looking back now, I see this image as a reflection of true health and wellness:

    • 🌿 Wellness means reaching deeply for what nourishes us, not just what looks beautiful on the surface.

    • 🦋 Healing requires presence — fully showing up where the support exists.

    • 🌸 Growth happens when we allow ourselves to receive.

Surrounded by green — the colour of balance and renewal — this moment reminds me that wellness is an active choice. Even in stillness, there is intention.

Years later, this image gently reminds me to ask myself: Am I reaching for what truly nourishes me?

💛 Pause. Breathe. Take in what you need. Wellness begins at the core.

  • I truly appreciate the beauty of nature, and I enjoy your eye for capturing beautiful images. You don’t have to post every week; posting every second week or even monthly would be perfectly fine. With so many options to choose from, it takes time to fully appreciate each picture. There are 21 choices to go through, and I can select the images I want to save. The words "love," "compassion," and "community" resonate deeply with me, as they convey a sense of connection and empathy. I really enjoy this aspect of the network. Thanks for being awesome!
