The Mighty Dandelion
When European settlers crossed the Atlantic in the 1600s, they packed dandelion seeds alongside wheat and barley. Ships' manifests listed it as a necessary supply. For thousands of years before that, it appeared in Persian medical texts, fed Alexander's army, and grew in every colonial homestead garden. Then in less than a century, we spent over a billion dollars trying to eliminate it. This is the story of how a plant went from medicine to menace—and what we lost in the process.
There is hope, visite and discover.
