A Free, Open Community Chat

Health, Wellness, Truth, and Real Options for All

This event is about removing barriers and creating a truly open space. There are no requirements, no expectations, and no judgments. If you are interested, you are welcome.

As part of the Not Just A Food Program, we are expanding our focus to include health and wellness education. Not everyone is interested in improving their health—and that’s okay. But for those who are interested, there are real, practical options, and this space exists to share them.

This is not just for people who are struggling. It is for anyone who wants to learn more about health, wellness, food, growing, and self-empowerment. These conversations are about truth, lived experience, and what is actually possible—without cost.

Why This Matters (My Story)

I never considered myself financially poor. I had struggles, but everything changed when I suffered a major stroke.

During recovery, my doctors were clear: I needed to strengthen my heart in order to survive and eventually undergo life-saving open-heart surgery. What they recommended was unaffordable. And the hard truth was this: If I couldn’t afford it, the system wasn’t going to help me.

That reality forced a choice—find another way, or die.

I refused to accept that outcome.

I went from 29 days in the hospital, needing a walker and oxygen just to function, to relearning how to walk, talk, and think clearly again. I later discovered an undiagnosed birth defect that caused the stroke, and without corrective surgery, my life expectancy was limited.

I had no choice but to learn—about my body, my health, my nutrition, and how to grow my own wellness.

What I Learned (And What I Share)

Because outdoor growing was no longer an option due to chemical spraying in my area, I turned to indoor growing, transitioning from soil to hydroponics using the Kratky method.

This method is:

  • Chemical-free

  • Pesticide-free

  • Herbicide-free

  • Low-cost

  • Fast-growing

I began consuming specific plants daily, chosen intentionally to support recovery. For example, I eat dandelion every day, all year long—and it costs almost nothing.

Knowledge is power. Truth is powerful. And action creates understanding.

Even today, I continue to see improvements—improvements you wouldn’t notice unless you knew my story. I once struggled to speak, to comprehend conversations, even to remember names. When I first picked up my camera again—a lifelong passion—I couldn’t remember how to turn it on. I couldn’t remember my wife’s name for weeks after my stroke.

Recovery didn’t come from a textbook. It came from learning, adapting, and acting.

What This Event Is About

This is the beginning of a more educational direction for my work—because I can only do so much alone, but I can lead by example and share knowledge freely.

These chats are:

  • Open discussions about health and wellness

  • Honest conversations about real options

  • An introduction to the Not Just A Food Program

  • A chance to learn why I created FIFE – Food Is For Everyone

  • A look at why I built a private social network to create a safer, more respectful space

  • A reflection on how LIFE – Love Is For Everyone guides everything I do

This is practical, real-world knowledge, shared by a real person, for real people.

What’s Coming Next

As support grows, these chats may expand into focused educational sessions, such as:

  • How to make a bedroll that keeps your belongings dry

  • How a simple tarp tent can protect from wind and rain

  • Low-cost, real-world survival and wellness skills

  • Ways to fundraise and support education for those most in need

I can’t do everything—but together, we can share truth, multiply impact, and bring meaningful support where it’s needed most.

Respect, Accountability, and Compassion

A key part of these conversations will also include changes to the free food program.

Free sandwiches are not the end goal—they are the starting point.

Going forward, greater support will come with greater accountability. Respect matters. Volunteers’ time matters. Love for all includes love for ourselves, our boundaries, and our efforts.

Support is built step-by-step through respectful actions. This approach allows us to help those who genuinely engage, show up, and respect the process.
