  • Daily Dose of Beauty at Parkwood Estate National Historic Site.

What do you see first—the butterfly or the flower?

Do you notice the white spots on the butterfly, or the delicate veins running through the flower petals?

It does not matter what catches your eye first. What matters is taking a moment to pause, look a little closer, and discover more of the beauty that is already there.

There is also a simple exchange happening. The flower provides nectar for the butterfly, while the butterfly may help with pollination as it moves from flower to flower. A little give and take in nature.

That is part of why I start my days with beautiful images. Taking time to notice nature and positive surroundings can help create a moment of calm, shift our attention, and support our sense of well-being. For me, photography has become part of that daily practice.

I take it one step further by sharing the beauty I find. Maybe someone else needs that small pause today—a few moments to slow down, notice something beautiful, and bring a little peace into their day.

What do you do for your mind and body each day?

  • I truly appreciate the beauty of nature, and I enjoy your eye for capturing beautiful images. You don’t have to post every week; posting every second week or even monthly would be perfectly fine. With so many options to choose from, it takes time to fully appreciate each picture. There are 21 choices to go through, and I can select the images I want to save. The words "love," "compassion," and "community" resonate deeply with me, as they convey a sense of connection and empathy. I really enjoy this aspect of the network. Thanks for being awesome!
