    • Crush the rehydrated leaves to form a paste.
    • Apply the paste to the affected area and cover with a cloth or bandage.

  • I decided to add Poultices to the awareness options. I have used plantain since I was a kid for bites and itchiness while in the field by rubbing the plant directly onto the area affected. While out chatting with some individuals yesterday (July 21st), one of the individuals has been sleeping in a wooded area. He was talking about how itchy and sore his legs and lower feet are. The mosquitoes have been bad in the area where he is sleeping at night and ran out of bug spray, he has been unable to find more and has no money to buy some. Needless to say, sometimes there are very simple and easy ways you can make a world of difference with a little knowledge. When we finished he was finding a little relief and was very grateful for his newfound knowledge. Unless you are 100% sure of what the plant is you should never tell others but if you are confident in identification, you can share your knowledge. Through our chat, I shared some options to further assist with his ongoing issues and how to make a poultice to further assist with his issues. The more I thought about things after walking home after this chat, I realized that with more and more struggling and seeking viable options for their health issues, it only makes sense to provide information for Poultice options.
