ILFJL Collective – Fundraising for a Dedicated Community Workspace
Building a Shared Space for Growth, Wellness & Community Support in Oshawa
LIFE – Love Is For Everyone | FIFE – Food Is For Everyone | Not Just A Food Program | Just Oshawa
Introduction
The ILFJL Collective is building something deeply meaningful in Oshawa — a community-rooted network built on love, health, food security, empowerment, education, and practical support.
What began with small acts of kindness has evolved into a full ecosystem that now offers:
- Free indoor-growing training
- Free starter plants and seeds
- Health and wellness education
- Weekly free sandwich deliveries
- Clothing and necessities support
- Local business awareness through Just Oshawa
- Community-focused content that uplifts and inspires
To grow this work and serve more people, we are raising funds to secure a dedicated ILFJL Community Workspace — a shared space where volunteers, learners, community members, and local businesses can come together to support health, wellness, nutrition, and community care.
Immediate fundraising goal:
✔ Cover the first 3 months of rent and utilities
This foundation will allow us to launch, stabilize, and expand our impact across Oshawa.
Purpose of the ILFJL Community Workspace
This space will bring together the four major pillars of the ILFJL Collective, while also opening the doors to volunteers, the general public, and the business community.
A. FIFE – Food Is For Everyone
Indoor Growing Education & Training Hub
The space will include:
- A complete indoor grow setup with shelving and lighting
- Demonstration plants at every growth stage
- Hands-on training areas for residents and volunteers
- A recording and live-stream zone for those who cannot attend in person
- A small group workshop area for training, nutrition education, and seed saving
Indoor growing gives people access to free, healthy, year-round nutrition — regardless of income, mobility, or housing situation.
This workspace will serve as a public learning hub and a volunteer training center, empowering more people to grow their own food.
B. Not Just A Food Program – LIFE Clothing & LIFE Necessities
Operational Workspace for Deliveries & Support Programs
This section of the workspace will allow us to:
- Sort and organize clothing, hygiene products, and essentials
- Assemble weekly care packages
- Prepare Tuesday/Friday food deliveries
- Provide volunteers with a safe, organized area to coordinate routes
- Ensure privacy, dignity, and reliability for those who rely on us most
Our priority remains clear:
Those struggling the most — especially seniors, people with mobility issues, and individuals facing financial hardship — will always receive doorstep deliveries.
This workspace expands our ability to reach and serve them consistently.
C. Just Oshawa Fundraising Products
Product Display, Sales & Small Business Partnership Area
This area will be open to:
- Volunteers
- Community members
- Local small businesses
- Visitors wanting to learn more about our fundraising efforts
It will feature:
- Prints, framed prints, magnets, calendars, stickers, t-shirts, and future locally sourced items
- A real display space where businesses can preview items before hosting a free draw or fundraiser
- A storefront-style section for in-person fundraising days
- Storage for rotating product lines and seasonal items
Businesses and the public will be invited to visit, learn, collaborate, and participate in community-driven fundraising.
D. Media, Community Education & Co-Working Hub
Training, Content Creation & Community Learning Space
This shared co-working zone will include:
- A dedicated recording station for indoor-growing demos, wellness lessons, and community updates
- Live-streaming tools for real-time education
- A creation zone for Inspiring Times slideshows, Just Oshawa videos, and educational materials
- A table for volunteers and community members to collaborate, learn, and share their stories
This hub amplifies hope, knowledge, and community-building across Oshawa.
