Over time, social media has changed.
What once helped local efforts and small community projects grow 🌱 now feels like “pay to play.”

Those doing real good — often the ones who need awareness most — are being pushed aside unless they can afford to boost or sponsor their posts 💰.

But community isn’t about algorithms or ads.
It’s about people helping people, and efforts that create real benefits.

That’s why we’re doing things differently.

🌟 The Just Community Networks

Through the ILFJL Collective, we’ve been creating a new space where local content can be freely added — verified, organized, and shared — without cost.

No boosting. No sponsored posts.
Just real connections that matter.

The first of these efforts is Just Oshawa, the start of many Just Community Networks being developed — built within the community, for the community.

🏙️ What Makes Just Oshawa Different

✅ Free listings — every local business, group, and organization can be added at no cost.

✅ Verified connections — we confirm each listing is actually within Oshawa (office, store, or home-based). No third-party, paid listings allowed.

✅ Accurate info — every post includes verified descriptions, direct links, and contact details — all in one trusted place.

✅ Free promotion — we create and share content across our social profiles, featuring your logo, links, and story — all freely done as part of our community benefit.

✅ Local support only — any awareness banners or funds stay within the community, supporting efforts like the Not Just A Food Program and other local causes.

💬 Why It Matters

Because when awareness is free, everyone gets a chance to be seen.
When funds stay local, everyone benefits.
When voices come together, the community grows stronger.

We’ve also seen how traditional fundraisers — raffles, tickets, and sales — often leave out those already struggling 💔.
That’s about to change.

Our next phase will introduce a new type of fundraising that removes ticket or raffle costs completely, allowing everyone to take part — freely and equally.
