From Seed to Harvest
Growing Oregano Indoors with the Kratky Method
On April 30, we planted the humble oregano seed—and today, we’re celebrating those first tiny green leaves breaking through. It’s a small but exciting sign that success is taking root.
We’re using the Kratky Method, a simple, soil-free hydroponic system that requires no electricity, pumps, or complicated equipment. Perfect for indoor growing, it lets the plant draw water and nutrients from a reservoir, adjusting naturally as it grows. It’s hands-off, low-maintenance, and ideal for herbs like oregano.
Even if you don’t have a hydroponic setup, oregano can thrive with just a sunny window and some care. Its Mediterranean roots make it a hardy herb, and with a little warmth and light, you can grow it from seed to harvest indoors.
As the days go by, we’ll watch these leaves multiply and deepen in scent and flavor—until it’s time to snip and enjoy the taste of fresh, homegrown oregano in our cooking.
Stay tuned as we continue this journey from sprout to spice!
