Keep Your Hands 2 Yourself is an organization built of both survivors and a collective of people that have come together with a desire to help people escape Domestic Abuse.
Her name is Karrie Lynn Dymond and she is the Founder of Keep Your Hands 2 Yourself. She is also a survivor of domestic violence, which has given her the strength and courage to speak up & speak out. She will tell you her story as you go along in the hope that it helps people know that they are not alone. In the words of Bob Marley “Everything is gonna be alright“.
Her desire is to build Keep Your Hands 2 Yourself into a resource that can help others going through difficult times. To let them know that they are not alone and there is someone who understands and wants to help them when they need it the most. The problem with most domestic violence cases is the fear of having no way to escape. The fear of the unknown future ahead. And for some with children or seniors, that fear is even more intense. These fears are all very common in these horrible situations. We want to try and alleviate some of that fear by offering a safe means of escape and a plan to move forward.
Imagine when all someone has to do is pick up the phone and say “Come and get me right now!” Our Guardians will come and take you to a real safe house. Then we will figure out the next steps TOGETHER. This is just a part of the future for Keep Your Hands 2 Yourself, but, she cannot do it alone. We need to do something different to help people because what is currently happening isn’t working.
