Introducing the Oshawa LIFE Community Project Volunteering Group
I’m excited to announce the launch of a new group on our site: the Oshawa LIFE Community Project Volunteering. Our goal is to create a hub for all activities related to the LIFE Community Project here in Oshawa.
As we prepare to start making sandwiches for individuals in need, we’ll be organizing Meal Prep events, along with scheduling for pick-up and delivery. This is where you can find all the specific details.
I will personally lead each activity and work closely with volunteers. As our team grows and our activities expand, I plan to have lead volunteers take charge of different sections.
In the beginning, I’ll be handling most of the deliveries. This includes not only sandwiches and snacks but also clothing and essential items as needed. I’m also working on refining our approach, aiming to use a bicycle with a utility trailer to enhance our efficiency and expand our support options.
I’m a hands-on person, actively involved in all aspects of our initiatives. Connecting with the community and meeting people brings me immense joy. I try to incorporate physical activity into our work for my health and well-being. If I’m going to dedicate a couple of hours each day to being active, it makes sense to use methods like biking for our deliveries.
While biking may not be the easiest way to manage some activities, it offers numerous benefits. It’s excellent for physical health, and it also eliminates costs associated with fuel and parking.
There are many other advantages to this approach, and I’d love to discuss them with you as we get to know each other.
Remember, LIFE stands for "Love Is For Everyone!" Join us in making a difference in our community!
