We are not going to have traditional newsletters to be sent out by e-mail but will use Blog posts to share the latest info of interest.
You will find that each of the Collective Groups will also have its own Blog posts that will focus on their specific content of interest. These are shared publicly so those not a member of this network can keep up with the latest details.
With the start of accepting invites to this network, you will find that some of the Collective Groups are currently private, and only members can see the groups. We are going to add and build out as we go and then make each public when we are happy with the completed work. Each of the Collectives has its profile on this network and will manage those sections across the network. You will find that each of the collective will work and manage their group but also within the Just Community Networks. At this time we only have Just Oshawa but in time we will be expanding to other Just Community Networks each with their group and activities.
We will be working on completing the Just Oshawa sections and then populating the content. Just Oshawa is a hyperlocal network that will only post verified Oshawa content. If it is not in Oshawa or from Oshawa it will not be posted in that section. It will take a couple of months of dedicated work each day to bring the content from the Just Oshawa website to this network but we will be adding new content as well with our signature listings. The Free Meals section is complete and up to date, we are focusing on the Food/Drink Specials, and Events listings next. The Bar/Restaurant/Venue, Small Businesses, Groups/Organizations, and Oshawa Artist Marketplace listings will be added with new listings being added with a mix of the existing listings from the website. We will be adding from the "Pics In Oshawa" section with content mixed from 2022/2023 and adding new 2024 images as well. In the coming weeks, we will be adding content and activities from the LIFE Community Project and the FIFE - Food Is For Everyone as we start up some of our programs/projects. We still have a lot of work to complete for this. We will be putting out blog posts when the work has been completed for each of these sections and how the management of Just Oshawa network sections will tie into the sections.
The fundraising efforts are not a major priority, we wish to make sure the different sections of the Collective are working first with the final section of the Collective, Inspiring Times, and the products ready for marketing.
This is the beginning of some amazing plans and goals with our ongoing efforts to assist those most in need within our communities. We have a goal to start weekly events in Oshawa, LIFE Rallies each week to raise awareness of the need for more love and compassion for all. Years ago we started handing out sandwiches/bottled water and a piece of fruit along with signs with positive affirmations and my favorite was the Free Hugs. Times have changed and we are going to change with the times. Our LIFE Rallies will focus on the positive affirmation signs along with free hugs, raising awareness of the need for more love and compassion for all.
When we get closer to the start of the weekly events, we will be encouraging others to join and work together to bring more acts of kindness for the benefit of all. It is a simple truth, that love is for everyone and it guides us with all our activities/projects and programs.
We encourage you to become more involved and have questions, we have many opportunities throughout the network for you to share your thoughts, and ideas and make suggestions to help us improve the network and in turn, bring more love and compassion for all.
